Program Description:

Study abroad in the heart of Europe!


Program Description

This program is designed to provide students with an overview of international journalism and broadcasting with a focus on how various nations and international broadcasting organizations are using new media to cover and report news.  Students will learn how an international broadcasting organization (Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty) is reaching audiences throughout Central and Eastern Europe.  In addition, students will explore the role of foreign correspondents and visit Czech radio and TV operations to learn how they are using new media techniques.

Academics

Students will receive 3 credits for JEM 494 or 510.


Accommodations

Students will be housed in double occupancy rooms at Hotel Ibis in Old Town Prague.

Excursions

In addition to visiting course-related sites and popular attractions in Prague, students will enjoy excursions to Karlstein Castle and Pilsen.
